Team Dempsey

Craig Heising joined Dempsey Construction in 2023 as a Superintendent, bringing over thirty years of experience in General Contracting with him. He has managed numerous projects exceeding $170M in value. His vertical markets include resort, hospitality, renovation, and retail. He is especially experienced in site development and high-end material installation, thriving on the challenges these project segments produce. He credits a portion of his success to his professionalism, his high level of integrity, and his ability to be an outstanding mentor. His motto throughout his career has been, "Character is the foundation on which I build."

Dale Lynch joined Dempsey Construction in 2022 as a member of our Field Operations team.

Dan Schilling joined Dempsey Construction in 2024 and is currently a member of our Field Operations Team in Otay Mesa.

Daniel Hernandez joined Dempsey Construction in 2022 and is currently a member of the Field Operations team.

Daniel is a seasoned construction veteran with nearly15 years of experience in commercial construction. Daniel began his career in 2010, where he worked on a wide variety of projects that allowed him to gain overlapping skills in carpentry and foreman duties. Through experience and hard work, Daniel worked his way up from Foreman to Superintendent. Daniel adds value to each job as he brings proven experience across a diverse cross-section of the building industry. Daniel has worked on a wide variety of projects in his career, ranging from the ground-up and renovated retail centers as well to multiple market commercial tenant improvements. Daniel has also effectively managed his teams on his job sites.

As Dempsey’s Controller, Darla maintains office operations, procedures and processes, payroll and health insurance, including overseeing administrative and accounting staff. Darla has been with the company for twelve years. Prior to that, she spent 12 years as an executive assistant to John Dempsey at a previous company. Darla genuinely enjoys her role as the Controller because she enjoys getting to help each and every employee on the Dempsey team. Whether it is a simple task or something complex, she loves helping people get their issues solved! In her spare time, Darla enjoys watching her daughter play softball, spending time with her family and four grandchildren.

In his role in Field Operations, Darrell takes care of the yard, making sure that it’s always safe, he also drives machinery, and assists the Superintendent. Darrell has been with Dempsey Construction for 10 years. Prior to his work at Dempsey, he had an internet business and was a Union Ironworker for 12 years. Darrell is always on the move with a lot of energy, never letting anything stand in his way from doing his job with great integrity and honesty. Most of his spare time is spent with his wife and family, fishing and walking trails.

David Lui joined Dempsey Construction in 2023 as a Project Engineer. Speaking 5 languages and being well-traveled, David has spent time in Papua New Guinea, Colorado, and Hawaii, however, he grew up mainly in Pittsburg in the Bay Area in NorCal and attended Pittsburg High School.  While attending Pittsburg High, David honed his athletic skills and became a collegiate-level Division 1 football player. He graduated with a degree in Civil and Construction Engineering, emphasis in Construction Management from BYU – Provo. In his free time, David enjoys being outdoors, being in the ocean, eating and trying new foods, and spending time with his family.

As a VDC, QA / QC, Warranty Manager at Dempsey, Dave conducts the coordination and scheduling of onsite construction. Dave has 30 plus years in the construction industry working as a carpenter, the head of public works concrete division, a superintendent for commercial and public works projects, a concrete estimator and a PM. Dave’s motivation for his work at Demsey derives from his sense of accomplishment when a project is completed, and to the client’s satisfaction. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing on the weekends and going to the gym when possible.
